Jude Liana is a photographer and director based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in New York City, she studied photography at the International Center of Photography and Hunter College, where she honed a visual idiom rooted in detail, form, and color.
Centering upon the raw power of portraiture, Liana's work is informed by a desire to faithfully represent the essence of each of her subjects. Her work in capturing the vast human experience has included an in-depth exploration of the Black rodeos of America and a series documenting the lives of high school girls in El Paso, Texas.
For the last decade, Liana has focused her work in fashion, advertising and editorial as well as documentary and fine art photography. Her work has been exhibited in Miami, New York City, and Los Angeles, and is included in the Isabel and Agustin Copper Collection. In 2022, Liana made her directorial debut with a music video for SiR from Top Dawg Entertainment.
